About Joya Tattoo Collective

Joya Tattoo Collective works from a first-floor suite on George Street in the heart of Sydney's CBD. As the name suggests, it is a collective, a roster of resident artists sharing one studio rather than a single house style.

That structure is the draw: between them the artists cover fine line, floral and ornamental work, black-and-grey and blackwork, dotwork, watercolour, realism and traditional old-school, so a client picks the maker whose portfolio fits the idea and books with them directly. The studio runs mainly by appointment, with complimentary consultations to talk through design, placement and cost, and it makes a point of keeping the environment calm, safe and easygoing. Guest artists pass through regularly.

It suits people who care about matching their tattoo to a particular artist's hand, and who would rather plan a piece than chase a walk-in.
